The newly replaced brake pads are hot and sticky for the following reasons:
1. Poor heat dissipation of brake pads; The quality of brake pads is poor.
2. Solution: the newly delivered brake pads generally have a running in period, so that the contact area between the brake pads and the brake disc (drum) will increase, and the brake force and torque will also increase. After a period of running in, I think the brake is very smooth.
3. Inspection method: check the thickness. The thickness of a new brake pad is generally about 1.5cm. With the continuous friction in use, the thickness will gradually become thinner. When the thickness of the brake pad is only about 1 / 3 of the original thickness (about 0.5cm) by naked eye observation. The owner should increase the self inspection frequency and be ready to replace it at any time. Due to the wheel hub design, some models do not have the conditions for visual inspection, so they need to remove the tire.
4. Brake pads are usually made of man-made materials (racing cars use powder metallurgy and ceramic brake materials, and there is almost no peculiar smell when braking). The instantaneous high temperature of man-made brake pads can reach 500 ℃ and 300 ℃.
5. The working principle of the brake is generated through friction. Through the friction between the brake and the brake disc (drum) and between the tire and the ground, the kinetic energy of the vehicle is converted into the heat generated by friction, so as to stop the vehicle. Therefore, when the brake disc is abnormal, it should be handled immediately.
When the brake disc of a new car is more than 80000 kilometers, it must be replaced. Under normal driving conditions, check the brake shoes every 5000 kilometers. In addition to checking the rest of the tread, check the wear condition of the shoes to see the wear degree on both sides and the flexibility of return. If there is any abnormality, deal with it immediately.
