There are two kinds of common automobile brake systems, including disc brake and drum brake. Drum brake is the first brake system applied to vehicles. The brake drum is installed on the wheel and rotates with the wheel. The brake pad is installed inside. The disc brake is the most common brake system. The disc brake uses a static brake disc to clamp the brake disc rotating with the tire to generate friction, A brake that slows down the speed of a wheel.

The disc brake has good heat dissipation. When the brake is pressed continuously, it will not cause brake recession and brake failure. It has fast response, average braking force, good drainage, etc. The disc brake system has fast response and can perform high-frequency braking actions. Drum brakes are simple in structure and low in manufacturing cost. They are mostly applied to the rear wheels of low-end cars or the brake systems of large trucks.

When it comes to this, I have to mention the high temperature of the brake. The drum brake force is large, but the heat attenuation is obvious and the heat dissipation is poor. Because the brake working mechanism is enclosed in the brake drum, the contact surface between the brake drum and the brake pad will become smaller after thermal expansion, and the heat cannot be dissipated quickly after continuous braking, affecting the braking efficiency. This has also led to the brake failure or brake failure of many vehicles, which is an important reason why we should regularly check and replace the brake pads.
