How many kilometers to change the brake pads

[Catalog:News] [Date:2022-3-16] [Hits:] [Return]

Generally, the replacement mileage of conventional brake pads is about 2.5000-30000 km.

Under normal circumstances, the service life of the front brake pad is 3000 km and that of the rear brake pad is 6000 km. However, the replacement of brake pads also depends on the wear. There are grooves on the brake pads. When the grooves are not obvious, we need to replace the brake pads once.

If the brake pads are seriously worn, the general vehicles are equipped with brake pad sensors, and a light on the instrument panel will warn you to replace the brake pads. Or the sound of "iron rubbing against iron" is accompanied by the gentle braking. At this time, the brake pad must be replaced immediately. When the brake pad is worn very thin, it will not only damage the brake drum, but also have potential driving safety hazards. Therefore, when the brake pads are worn to a certain extent, they must be replaced in time.

Attention should be paid to the following when replacing brake pads:

First, when changing the brake pads, be sure to polish the edges and corners. Generally, the brake pad leaves the factory with an oblique section, commonly known as "chamfer".

Second, after changing the brake pads, try not to brake with big feet, let alone rush to brake. Because the friction surface of the new brake pad is not completely fit with the surface of the brake disc.

Third, after replacing the new brake pad, be sure to pay attention to running in, so that the brake pad can achieve a better fit with the brake disc as soon as possible, so as to ensure the braking effect.
