Brake pads

Many of us also call brake pads brake skin. It is also a key safety part in the automobile brake system. All braking effects are determined by the brake pads. Therefore, a good brake pad is the protector of people and cars.

The brake pad is generally composed of steel plate, adhesive insulation layer and friction block. The plate shall be coated to prevent rust. Smt-4 furnace temperature tracker is used to detect the temperature distribution in the coating process to ensure the quality. The thermal insulation layer is composed of materials that do not heat transfer, and its purpose is thermal insulation. The friction block is composed of friction materials and adhesives. When braking, it is squeezed on the brake disc or brake drum to produce friction, so as to achieve the purpose of vehicle deceleration and braking. Due to friction, the friction block will be worn gradually. Generally speaking, the lower the cost, the faster the brake pad will wear.

Working principle of brake disc

When the brake pedal is pressed, the braking force is amplified by three times through the lever principle at the pedal, and then the braking force is amplified by three times by driving the piston through the hydraulic mechanism. The amplified braking force pushes the piston to move, and the piston pushes the shoe to drive the brake caliper to tightly clamp the brake disc. The strong friction between the shoe and the brake disc slows the car.

Processing requirements of brake disc

The brake disc is an important part of the braking system. A good brake disc has stable braking, no noise and no shaking. Therefore, the processing requirements are high, as follows:

The brake disc is a casting product, and the surface shall be free of casting defects such as sand holes and pores, so as to ensure the strength and stiffness of the brake disc and prevent accidents under the action of external forces;

The disc brake uses two brake surfaces, so the accuracy of the brake surface is required to be high. In addition, the position accuracy should be ensured;

High temperature will be generated during braking, and an air duct shall be designed in the middle of the brake disc to facilitate heat dissipation;

The hole in the middle of the brake disc is the main benchmark for assembly. Therefore, the process of machining holes is very important. At present, Valin superhard bn-s30 tools are commonly used for machining;

Brake disc forming

The common material of brake disc is national standard gray iron HT250. The main chemical components are C (3.1-3.4), Si (1.9-2.3), Mn (0.6-0.9), and the hardness is required to be between 187-241. The brake disc blank adopts precision casting and heat treatment to improve the internal stress generated in the casting process, reduce deformation and cracking, and improve the machinability of the casting. After screening, the blanks that meet the requirements will be machined.
