Structure and application advantages of disc brake

[Catalog:News] [Date:2020-11-18] [Hits:] [Return]
The oil cylinder (air chamber) is fixed on the bottom plate of the brake. Two friction plates on the brake caliper are respectively installed on both sides of the brake disc. The piston of the oil cylinder (air chamber) is affected by the hydraulic (pneumatic) pressure from the oil (gas) pipe, which pushes the friction plate to press against the brake disc to produce friction braking, just like clamping the rotating plate with pliers, forcing the moving mechanism to stop moving.

The advantages of disc brake are good heat dissipation, small heat recession and good thermal stability. It is suitable for the front wheel brake of cars with high requirements on braking performance. For the car, the rear wheel brake mostly uses the drum brake with long service life, so as to attach the parking brake, which is the front disc and rear drum brake system。

The brake is also called the brake device, which shows that it is widely used in automobiles. Secondly, in the mechanical equipment, in order to make its safe and stable production will also use the brake, in short, use different types of braking device in the place where it is not used. For example: bicycles and cars, although they are vehicles, but in the use of brakes, their functions are the same, the structure is still very different. Let's learn about the structure and use advantages of the lower disc brake.
Disc brake is mainly composed of brake disc, oil cylinder (air chamber), brake caliper, oil (air) pipe and hydraulic (pneumatic) power source.

The disc brake is made up of the end face of the rotating brake disc as the friction pair, and the brake block composed of friction material and its metal bottom plate is installed on the fixed bracket.

These brake blocks and their tensioning devices are installed in the clamping clamp type bracket across both sides of the brake disc, which are called brake calipers.
