What Does The Type Of Brake Mean

[Catalog:News] [Date:2020-11-6] [Hits:] [Return]

The oil cylinder (air chamber) is fixed on the bottom plate of the brake. Two friction plates on the brake caliper are respectively installed on both sides of the brake disc. The piston of the oil cylinder (air chamber) is affected by the hydraulic (pneumatic) pressure from the oil (gas) pipe, which pushes the friction plate to press against the brake disc to produce friction braking, just like clamping the rotating plate with pliers, forcing the moving mechanism to stop moving.

The advantages of disc brake are good heat dissipation, small heat recession and good thermal stability. It is suitable for the front wheel brake of cars with high requirements on braking performance. For cars, the drum brake with longer service life is often used in the rear wheel brake, so as to attach the parking brake, which is the front disc and rear drum hybrid brake system.

The above is about the disc brake information

1. Brake: brake is a device that can make moving parts (or moving machinery) slow down, stop or keep in stop state.

2. In the automobile, according to the different braking principles, it can be divided into the following two types:

Disc brake, also known as "disc brake", is composed of a brake disc connected to the wheel and a brake caliper on the edge of the disc. When braking, high-pressure brake oil pushes the brake block to clamp the brake disc, thus producing braking effect.

The drum brake is fixed with the tire and rotates at the same speed. When braking, the oil pressure is used to push the brake shoes to contact the inner edge of the brake drum, and the friction force generated by the contact can restrain the rotation of the tire to achieve the purpose of braking.

3. Their characteristics are as follows

[drum brake] ① the drum brake has good self braking effect; ② the cost is low; ③ it is easy to lock; ④ the heat attenuation is fast.

[disc brake] ① the brake wear can not be reduced to the accumulation on the brake. The centrifugal force of the disc brake can throw all the water, dust and other pollution out. ② the brake parts are independent, so it is easier to maintain than the drum brake. ③ The ventilation and heat dissipation effect is good, and the cost is high

4. Supplement: the "front disc" in the product description means that the front wheel is disc brake, and the "rear drum type" means that the rear wheel is drum type. Generally, high-grade cars are "front and rear discs", and front and rear wheels are disc brakes
